That makes distance the honest answer to most questions about where we work. The closer the car is to Brent Cross, the more often we can help and the easier it is to fit the job into the diary. We have more than one van, and if one is already out your way that helps, but we never promise a time until we have heard where you are.

The towns on this site are about 2 to 109 miles (straight line) from our only base at Brent Cross, NW2. We give you an arrival time when you call, and for the towns furthest away we tell you on the call whether we can take the job.

How distance affects the job

About 60 of the town pages are within 30 miles of the base. For those, the question is usually when, not whether, and we give you an arrival time on the call. More than half are further out, most of them in the Midlands, 50 to 109 miles away.

Some town pages are much further away, in the Midlands for example. We keep those pages because we do take jobs there when the diary allows, but we have no base or van stationed there. Call and we will tell you whether we can take the job before anything is booked. If the car is unsafe where it is, your breakdown cover may reach you sooner.

What stays the same wherever you are

• The price is the same at any hour: evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays when the diary allows, at the same price as a weekday job.
• The price is agreed on the call before any work starts.
• Common sizes are often on the van; other sizes are sourced for the job.
• Puncture repairs follow BS AU 159, and we tell you if a tyre cannot be repaired safely.
• We never work on a motorway carriageway, hard shoulder or slip road. Once the car is somewhere safe off the road, we can come to it.
