Freight and hire cars grind along the A4 Bath Road all day, and what comes off it ends up in somebody's tread on the A437 High Street or in a driveway off Sipson Road. The M4 runs alongside, but nothing is ever attempted on the motorway itself: come off at junction 4A or junction 3 and stop somewhere the car can stand still. A driveway is what most homes here have and it is the surface of choice. Bath Road, the A4, carries too much moving traffic for a wheel to come off at its edge.
