It's written on the
side of your tyre.
Look at the sidewall for a code like 205/55 R16. That's the width, profile and rim size, exactly what we need to source the right tyres for you.
Unit 9 Adrian Avenue, Brent Cross, NW2 1LX.
A depot where the vans are loaded, not a garage you drive into. Every job is done where your car is.
Which service do I need?
You do not need to know the name of the job before you call. Tell us what the tyre is doing and we will work out the rest. This table is a starting point, matching the most common symptoms to the page that explains each job.
| What you notice | What it often means | Where to start |
|---|---|---|
| The tyre loses a little air every few days | A slow puncture, often a screw or nail in the tread | Puncture repair |
| The tyre is completely flat on the driveway | A puncture, a valve fault or a leak at the rim | Flat tyre help |
| A bang, then the car pulled to one side | A burst or shredded tyre that needs replacing | Burst tyre replacement |
| A bulge, a cut or a split in the sidewall | Damage that cannot be repaired, usually from a kerb or pothole | Damaged tyre replacement |
| You cannot find the locking wheel nut key | The wheel cannot come off until the nut is removed | Locking wheel nut removal |
| The steering wheel shakes at motorway speed | A wheel out of balance, often after a weight has fallen off | Wheel balancing |
| Tread close to 1.6mm, or cracking from age | The tyre is due for replacement | Tyres we fit |
| A tyre pressure warning on a car with run-flats | A run-flat tyre that has lost pressure | Run-flat tyres |
| Fast wear on an electric car | EV weight and torque wearing the tyres | EV tyres |
| Any of the above in the evening, at night or at a weekend | The same jobs out of hours, when the diary allows, at the same price | Out-of-hours tyre fitting |
If you are not sure, send a photo of the tyre on WhatsApp. It usually tells us whether a repair is possible or a new tyre is needed, so the fitter brings the right thing.
What comes with every job?
Whichever service you book, the visit ends the same way. The fitter checks the job is finished properly before taking payment:
- Wheels tightened to the maker's figure. Nuts or bolts are tightened to the car maker's torque figure. A re-check after the first 30 miles or so is good practice after any wheel has been off.
- Balanced at the car. Every new tyre is balanced before the wheel goes back on.
- Valves checked and pressures set. The valve, or the valve seal on a car with pressure sensors, is checked or renewed with a new tyre, and pressures are set to the figure on the door pillar or in the handbook.
- Repairs to BS AU 159. A puncture is only repaired when it sits inside the repairable area of the tread and the tyre has not been damaged inside by running flat. If it falls outside that, we tell you and do not patch it.
- The old tyre taken away. It leaves in the van for disposal.
What we don't do
We are a mobile tyre service and nothing else. We do not do wheel alignment or tracking, brakes, batteries, servicing or MOTs, and we never sell or fit part-worn tyres. If your problem turns out to be one of those, we will say so on the call rather than send a fitter for a job we cannot finish.
We also never work on a motorway hard shoulder, a slip road or an emergency area. If the car is stuck there, get everyone out on the side away from traffic, stand behind the barrier and call National Highways on 0300 123 5000, or 999 if you are in danger. Once recovery has moved the car somewhere safe, we can meet it there.
Can I check anything before I call?
Three free tools on this site help you get the details right first. The tyre size calculator compares two sizes, so you can see whether an alternative will fit. The tyre pressure converter switches between PSI, bar and kPa when the door sticker and the forecourt gauge disagree. The tyre date code checker reads the four-digit DOT code and tells you how old a tyre is, which matters for the spare in the boot or a used car you have just bought.
Tyre services, answered.
Does the price change at night or at weekends?
No. The price is the same at any hour, on a weekday, at a weekend or on a bank holiday, and it is agreed on the call before any work. Our page on how we price a mobile tyre fitting explains what decides it.
Will the fitter have my tyre?
Common sizes are often on the van. Less common sizes, run-flats and some premium brands are sourced for the job, and we confirm that on the call so nobody turns up with the wrong tyre.
Where can you work on my car?
Anywhere safe and reasonably level: a driveway, a residential street with room to work, or a workplace or supermarket car park with the owner's permission. We never work on a motorway hard shoulder or a slip road. Every van leaves from Brent Cross, so the arrival time depends on the distance and is given on the call. See all the areas we cover.
Can you repair a run-flat tyre?
Usually not. Most tyre makers advise against repairing a run-flat that has been driven on without air, so in most cases we replace it. The run-flat page explains why.
Whatever the tyre trouble, we've got it.
Book online or call. We agree the price and give you an arrival time on the call.
