Is a blowout on the A46 always a replacement job?
For a true blowout, yes, nearly always. The burst destroys the sidewall and tears the casing, and that damage sits well outside what any safe repair can cover. What should I do to stay safe while my tyre is flat on the A-road?
Get yourself clear of the traffic first. Once the car is on the hard shoulder or in an emergency area, put your hazards on, leave by the door away from the carriageway if it is safe, and wait behind the barrier. Do not attempt to change the tyre yourself with vehicles passing at speed. Ring us and we will handle it when we arrive.
Do you carry the right tyre for my car, or will you need to order one?
Our vans carry a spread of the common sizes, so most burst tyres can be replaced there and then in a single visit. When you call, read us the size off the sidewall if you can, along with your location on A46, and we will bring the correct tyre to you.
Can you come out at night on the A46?
