Return to Warwick Parkway after a day in London, or to the Stratford park and ride after an evening show, and find a tyre flat: that is the moment to phone rather than drive.
A46 flats can surface in station and park and ride car parks. A car left at Warwick Parkway all day, or at Stratford Parkway while its owner visits the theatre, gives a slow leak hours to empty. University staff and hospital visitors at Walsgrave meet the same surprise. The pull is to inflate it at the nearest garage and head for the A46, but a tyre that has sat flat may have a damaged inner wall that fails once back at bypass speed.
Leave the Parkway or Walsgrave car where it stopped and phone with the size and the car park name. Along the A46 the fitter finds the leak first and only then advises: a clean tread-face puncture gets a BS AU 159 repair, a worn valve is swapped, and a casing crushed by driving on it flat means a new tyre, provided your size is among the stock on the van. Options and the price come first, and nothing is fitted until you agree.

Flat tyre near the Binley end of the A46? Leave at TGI Island onto Rugby Road, pull into a street in Ernesford Grange, and switch on the hazards. Do not try the jack on a slope or soft ground. Once parked, check the tyre by eye, then call with the road name and the nearest landmark so we can find you.
Three checks help before you ring from Warwick Parkway or a Leamington street. Is it only one tyre? Is a screw or flint visible, or does the valve look cracked? Is there a fresh scrape from a Stratford roundabout kerb? Then leave it. Driving flat to a garage up the A46 destroys the sidewall, and a space-saver, designed for modest speeds over short distances, does not belong on the Kenilworth bypass. Staying parked keeps a repair possible.
