At night, wait somewhere lit and well away from the A46 carriageway. The roads near Coventry station, or a residential street in Earlsdon or Spon End, are simple to describe to a fitter in the dark. Lock yourself in if nobody else is about, and share a location pin when you phone so the van heads to the right kerb.
Say the place first when phoning the A46 line after dark: the University Hospital car park you chose, the Stratford Parkway row, the Kenilworth car park. Then give the sidewall size and say where that locking key is kept. Waiting inside with doors locked is sensible in a car park; beside moving traffic, stand behind the barrier instead.
