Locking Wheel Nut Removal · A46

Locking wheel nut removed at the roadside
on the A46.

Lost the key for your locking nuts and now stranded beside the A46 with a wheel you cannot get off? A keyless nut will not budge with an ordinary socket, so the wheel stays on and the car stays put. We drive out to you, extract the nut without harming the alloy and change the tyre so you rejoin the A-road in the same visit.

Locking nuts are there to slow down thieves, not to lock out the owner. When the key is missing, snapped or was never passed on with the car, our master extraction sets grip the nut directly and wind it out, so a keyless nut on the A46 does not have to mean a long wait for recovery.

Get somewhere safe first, well clear of moving traffic, then call. We confirm exactly where you are on the A46, give you a price before we set off, and ask for nothing up front, so you pay only once the nut is out and the tyre is sorted. Where the traffic allows, we aim to be with you inside the hour.

  • Lost or snapped keys: a master set lifts the nut when yours has gone
  • Alloy and studs protected: the tool grips the nut, not the wheel
  • Back on the A-road fast: nut out and tyre changed in one visit
  • Nothing up front: pay once the nut is out and the tyre is done

About the A46

The road we cover.

The A46 links Coventry and the Warwickshire towns, much of it modern dual carriageway. It runs from the M6 near Coventry past Kenilworth, Warwick and Leamington Spa to Stratford-upon-Avon and Alcester. It is a fast ring and link route around the Warwickshire towns.

Wherever you've stopped along it, we bring the extraction tools to you and get the wheel off, then sort the tyre in the same visit.

Stay safe first

Broken down on the A46?

A seized locking nut won't deflate your tyre, so there's no need to take a risk. Get to a safe spot, a services, junction or emergency area, and we'll come to remove it.

A46 FAQs

Locking Wheel Nut Removal on the A46, answered.

My locking nut has seized and the key just rounds off. Can it come off on the A46 without ruining the alloy?
In almost every case, yes. A rusted or rounded nut needs a tool that bites into what is left of it rather than a socket that keeps slipping. We carry exactly that, so the nut comes away while the alloy, stud and surrounding trim stay untouched.
The nut is badly corroded. Do you have to drill it out at the roadside?
Drilling is a last resort we work hard to avoid. In the great majority of cases our extraction socket grips the corroded nut and draws it out cleanly, which is far kinder to the wheel and quicker on the A-road. We explain what the nut needs before we start.
How much does roadside locking wheel nut removal cost on the A-road?
We give you a clear price on the phone before we head out, based on your vehicle and what needs doing. There is nothing to pay in advance, you pay the agreed price only once the nut is out, so it is never an extra charge. Removing the nut and finishing the tyre are handled in the one visit.
Where should I stop if the nut fails while I am moving on the A46?
Get well clear of live traffic as soon as it is safe. Pull into an emergency area or leave at the next junction, switch on your hazards and stand back from the vehicle, away from the A46. Then call us with your direction of travel and the nearest junction or marker post.
Can you change the tyre once the seized nut is off?
Yes. Freeing the nut is the first step, and with the wheel able to come off we change or refit the tyre straight away. It all happens in the one roadside visit, so you rejoin the A-road without a separate trip to a garage.
