A puncture off the M69 and no locking nut key in the glovebox? We take the locking nut off cleanly, swap in ordinary nuts and fix the tyre before we go.
The missing key usually comes to light at the worst moment: stopped at Fosse Park or on the Ansty Park roads with a flat, spare out of the boot, and nothing to fit the patterned nut. In other cases the key is present yet useless, because an impact gun during an earlier tyre change chewed the nut's pattern, or the key cracked when someone leaned on a wheel brace.
Stop forcing it: a hammered-on socket or a drill can wreck the alloy and make removal harder. We use dedicated removal tools matched to the nut type, including free-spinning collar designs, and take it off without scoring the wheel face. Ordinary nuts replace it, and whatever brought you to a stop, puncture or damaged tyre, is dealt with before we leave. Removal and tyre work are priced together on the call.
