About the M1

The M1 runs from Staples Corner in north London up to Leeds, and our coverage follows its busy southern stretch to the M6 at Catthorpe. It serves Watford and Hemel Hempstead at junctions 5 to 8, Luton at 10 and 11, Milton Keynes at 13 and 14 and Northampton at 15 and 16, meeting the M25 at junction 6a and the A14 and M6 at the Catthorpe Interchange. Will the tyres be balanced and torqued properly off the M1?
Yes. We balance each wheel on the van, torque the nuts to the manufacturer's figure and set your pressures before you drive off. The roadside fit near the M1 meets the same standard you would expect from a garage, just done where you have stopped.
What do you do with my old tyres after fitting near M1?
They leave with us. Once the new set is fitted and checked, the worn tyres go into the van for recycling, so nothing is left at the roadside near M1. There is no separate disposal charge to deal with.
Is a roadside tyre fit near the M1 safe and up to standard?
It is, provided you are parked well clear of traffic. We use proper mobile balancing and torque equipment and follow the manufacturer's specs, checking every wheel before you set off. Safety comes first, so we only fit once you are in a secure spot off the M1.
Should I replace worn tyres before driving further on the M1?
