24 Hour Tyre Repair · M1

24-hour tyre repair at the roadside
on the M1.

Picked up a puncture on the M1 at an hour when everywhere is shut? A nail rarely means a new tyre. Once you have stopped somewhere safe, we come out to you, lift the wheel off and, where the damage is in the repairable part of the tread, patch it to BS AU 159 on the spot, so a 3am flat costs you a repair rather than a replacement.

Most motorway punctures come from debris through the central tread, and that is exactly the sort we can mend if the tyre has not been driven flat. Get yourself to safety first, an emergency area or off at the next junction, never a live lane, then call. We bring the kit to inspect and repair the tyre where it stands rather than leave you waiting for a garage to open.

The rule is the same at any hour. A repairable puncture is patched from the inside, the wheel rebalanced, and you are on your way. A cut sidewall or damage outside BS AU 159 gets an honest replacement instead. The price, including any small out-of-hours supplement, is agreed before we start, with nothing to pay up front.

  • A patch first, a tyre only if needed: we always try to save the one you have
  • Internal repair to BS AU 159: a proper fix, not a temporary roadside plug
  • 24-hour callouts to the M1: a fitter reaches you day or night
  • Nothing to pay to book: most jobs done in around 60 minutes where possible

About the M1

The road we cover.

The M1 runs from Staples Corner in north London up to Leeds, and our coverage follows its busy southern stretch to the M6 at Catthorpe. It serves Watford and Hemel Hempstead at junctions 5 to 8, Luton at 10 and 11, Milton Keynes at 13 and 14 and Northampton at 15 and 16, meeting the M25 at junction 6a and the A14 and M6 at the Catthorpe Interchange. It is a major north-south freight and commuter artery, busy day and night with fast-moving heavy traffic.

Wherever you've stopped along it, at any hour, we come to you and repair the tyre on the spot rather than leave you waiting until a garage opens.

M1 FAQs

24 Hour Tyre Repair on the M1, answered.

Does driving on the flat change whether you can repair my tyre on M1?
Yes, a great deal. A puncture is most repairable the moment it happens, and every mile on a soft tyre breaks down the sidewall until a patch is no longer safe. Ease off to a safe place as soon as you notice it, and the chance of a repair rather than a replacement is far higher.
Can you really patch a puncture on the M1 in the small hours?
Yes. The repair service runs day and night, so a fitter can come out to the M1 at 3am just as readily as at midday. Provided you have stopped somewhere safe and the damage is repairable, we take the wheel off, patch it to BS AU 159 and rebalance it there and then, subject to a fitter being free.
What should I do to stay safe while I wait on M1?
Get yourself and any passengers away from moving traffic first. Pull into an emergency area or the hard shoulder, or leave at the next junction, and never remain in a live lane. On a motorway stand behind the barrier. If you are stuck where you cannot move to safety, ring 999 or National Highways on 0300 123 5000, then call us.
Will an out-of-hours job on the M1 cost more?
There is a small out-of-hours supplement for nights, weekends and bank holidays, made clear when we call you back. There is nothing to pay up front, and you will know the price for a repair, or a replacement if one is needed, before we start.
How soon can a fitter get to me on the M1?
We aim to reach you within about an hour wherever we can, with real 24-hour cover across the routes we serve. Give us your direction of travel and the nearest junction or marker post so we can find you quickly, and read out the tyre size in case a replacement turns out to be the safer call.
