About the M1

The M1 runs from Staples Corner in north London up to Leeds, and our coverage follows its busy southern stretch to the M6 at Catthorpe. How do I know if my tyre needs replacing rather than repairing?
If the damage is on the sidewall, if the hole is larger than about 6mm, or if the tyre has been run flat or shredded, it is beyond a safe repair. The fitter confirms this at the roadside on the M1, and where a repair really would be safe on a small tread puncture, we will tell you honestly instead.
What happens step by step when you arrive on M1?
