This is a small district with a big road through it. People ring from the retail car parks, from the flats off High Road, and from the residential streets climbing away towards Blackbird Hill. Nothing on the A406 itself is workable: there is no lay-by, the underpass has no margin at all, and a car abandoned on it endangers everyone else too. Come off at Neasden Lane and park up on a normal street, or into one of the retail car parks, and the job becomes simple. Staples Corner, where the M1 begins, lies under two miles off, close enough that drivers try to limp to it. They should not. ULEZ applies here as everywhere in Brent, and it is not charged on a stationary vehicle.
