Oxford treats wheels badly at low speed and then tells you about it at high. Speed cushions on the residential streets, the tall kerbs of cycle-lane build-outs and the broken surfacing along Hollow Way all knock weights loose or flatten a rim edge. Nothing is felt crossing town, then the steering starts to hum on the A34 between Peartree and HiA40ey Hill, or through the seat on the A40 towards Wolvercote.
The wheel has to come off for this, so the van parks beside the car and the job runs there. On the machine inside, the wheel is turned until the readout names how much is missing and on which face; weights go onto the rim to match, then it is spun again before being torqued back. Ask for it after a new tyre goes on, after a repair that broke the bead, or when a weight has plainly gone.
A Summertown, Wolvercote or Headington drive is simplest. Inside the ring road a permit or pay-and-display bay is fine where the car is legally parked. Surface rows at Thornhill, Redbridge and Seacourt suit the job; the low hospital multi-storeys do not.

Alignment is the other word people reach for, and it is not something Rescue Tyres offers. When a car pulls steadily towards the kerb along the Botley Road, or the inner edge of a front tyre goes bald, a garage with a geometry rig is what it wants.
