When the rim starts to buzz on the A4130 out to Milton Park but feels fine around the Orchard Centre, a balance weight has usually gone, and the machine comes to Didcot.
It shows itself on the open roads first. The A4130 between the Milton interchange and the town, and the A34 past Chilton, are where a Didcot driver feels the steering begin to shimmer, while the streets around Broadway and Northbourne hide it entirely.
