Everything a workshop has, the van has: changer, balancer, torque wrench and your tyre size, parked beside the car in a Barnsbury bay or a Farringdon basement. The car stays put.
Islington is the borough where mobile fitting makes most sense. Nearly every street from Angel to Archway is permit-controlled, the A1 and A503 are red routes, and garages are scarce inside N1 and EC1. Moving a car with a bad tyre means losing a bay and risking a fine on Upper Street. Doing the whole job at the car, in the space it already holds, removes both problems.
With the car lifted on its jacking point, the wheel is removed and the machine strips the tyre from the rim. The new tyre is mounted, inflated to the door-plate figure, spun on the balancer and put back on, the nuts brought up to the correct torque in sequence. The old tyre goes on the van. All you provide is the sidewall marking and the bay; one figure covering tyre, fitting and callout is settled before the van leaves NW2.
Any bay you can legally occupy: your resident bay in Highbury or Canonbury, a paid bay in Clerkenwell or Farringdon, an underground car park near the Old Street roundabout with the manager's say-so. The A1 and A503 red routes are out.

The workshop on the van needs a little room. In Islington that usually means the car in its resident bay with space for the fitter to kneel by the wheel and set the jack on flat tarmac, the van alongside without blocking a junction or a driveway. Pay-by-phone bays and underground car parks near Old Street work well. The car never moves, so there is no risk of losing the bay; the red route stretches of Upper Street are out.
