Tyre trouble on the A45 after hours, repaired where the car is.

An A45 night-time problem may be no blowout at all, just a small puncture at an awkward hour. An event crowd leaves the NEC to find a tyre soft; a Warwick University student parked in Canley notices a nail at 11 pm; a Brackmills night-shift worker walks out to a warning light. None of these tyres needs replacing. What they need is a proper internal repair while the owner sleeps, so the car is ready when the day starts.

The fitter drives out overnight, lifts the NEC or Canley wheel and demounts the tyre to see the lining. If the puncture is in the central tread area and not larger than 6 mm, a BS AU 159 patch-plug seals the NEC or Canley hole and the wheel is rebalanced. The overnight price is the normal price, agreed on the call. When damage turns out to be outside the standard, the fitter explains why before touching anything, and a replacement can be arranged.
