The light usually comes on a mile or two after the object goes in. Eastbound drivers see it near Great Billing or Wilby Way, having picked up a fixing that fell from a lorry leaving Brackmills; in Birmingham it is more often a nail or fixing picked up from the kerbside along the Coventry Road.
