How the job is done
Found it flat in Hitchin? Leave it where it is.
Hitchin flats tend to be spotted, not felt. A commuter returns on a late train to find a car slumped in the station car park on the Walsworth side; a resident in Bearton walks out to a squashed rear tyre; a visitor comes back from Hitchin Priory or the lavender at Cadwell Farm to a warning light. Driving on it, even to the end of the road, grinds the sidewall into scrap.
Leave the car, and call with where it is and the size moulded into the rubber. The fitter removes the flat tyre from the rim to see why it went down. A clean puncture mid-tread is repaired; a crushed wall, a hole at the shoulder or a failed valve means something else, whether a new valve or a new tyre. The options and their prices are laid out on the call.
On run-flat tyres? They behave differently once deflated, so check the handbook's limits and read our page on run-flat tyres; we fit replacement run-flat tyres at the car in Hitchin as well.
Our Brent Cross team also offers broken tyre replacement, emergency tyre replacement in Hitchin and burst tyre replacement.
