When the M6 leaves you stranded with a size no local garage has, the whole tyre workshop comes up in our van. Changer, balancer and tyre arrive where the car is safe.
A tyre failure on the M6 through Birmingham usually starts a chain: recovery to an unfamiliar garage in Wednesbury or Coventry, a size not in stock, a car left overnight. Many cars now carry only sealant, and a space-saver limits speed on a smart motorway with no hard shoulder. A van that brings the whole workshop to Corley, Hilton Park or a retail park near your exit cuts out the tow and the wait.
The van brings its own tyre changer, spin balancer, compressor and torque kit, and because the journey north is long, your exact tyre is bought in before we leave. Beside the car the wheel is unbolted and the old tyre levered away; the new one is fitted, pumped up and balanced, and the nuts torqued in sequence. Share the size and a location pin; the price, travel included, is fixed by phone.
The van needs a level bay beside the car: Corley or Hilton Park on the correct side, a Wednesbury retail park, or a Cannock side road. Never the carriageway, the J6 ramps or an emergency area.

For the whole job to happen beside the car, the van needs a level bay with space next to the damaged wheel, in a spot where it blocks no other drivers. Corley's car park on your side, a Castle Bromwich retail park off J5 or a quiet road in Aston well away from the J6 interchange all qualify. Private and permit bays need the owner's agreement. The changer and balancer work at the wheel, so the car never moves.
