On a commuter street near the station a kerbside bay is fine when it is not on a bend. The A232 through the village, the A217 at St Dunstan's Hill and the verges around Banstead Downs are not places to stop for this.
Nearly all of Cheam is houses with drives, which makes it one of the more straightforward places on this side of Sutton to work in. The village centre on the A232 is the exception: High Street and Ewell Road are tight, shop frontages take up the kerb and public parking is limited. Cheam station sits below the village and the roads around it fill with commuter cars on weekdays. Belmont Rise and St Dunstan's Hill, both the A217, carry through traffic towards Sutton and should be left behind before any wheel comes off. Kimpton Industrial Park to the north has yard room for vans. Nonsuch Park lies over on the Ewell side. SM2 is ULEZ territory, at no cost to a car standing still.
