The travelling workshop needs a clear strip beside the affected wheel and tarmac flat enough to keep the jack square. An end bay at Cobham services, or a quiet corner of the London Colney retail car park, gives that without hemming in other drivers. A private bay in a Heathrow staff car park is fine once its owner agrees. Machines come to the M25 casualty rather than the reverse, so the car remains on the spot where it halted, never towed and never driven another yard.
