A tyre found flat on a Highfield drive or at Hall Green station is not a tyre to drive on: a fitter is sent out and chooses, beside the car, between a repair and a replacement.
The trouble in B28 is simply a flat, discovered rather than caused. The car went to bed fine on a drive off Fox Hollies Road and one corner is down in the morning. The train from Moor Street gets in and the car at the station is on the rim. Nobody knows yet whether it is a nail from the Stratford Road, a valve, or a cut, and the temptation is to drive it somewhere to find out.
Do not. A flat driven even to the Stratford Road shops shreds the inner liner and can bend the wheel. Ring instead, with the tyre code and the location. The fitter puts air in beside the car to see where it escapes, and the answer follows from that: a puncture in the tread's middle band is patched from inside on the drive; a sidewall fault, a wrecked liner or a valve past saving means a new tyre off the van. You are given both figures by phone before the visit.

A flat on Millpool Hill Alcester Road South (A435) or Howard Road calls for a calm first move: indicate, slow down and turn into a side road around Druids Heath or Warstock where you are not blocking a bus route. Check the wheel from the pavement side only. Then ring us with the road you left and the turning you took.
