Came out to a flat on the drive in Abingdon or outside the One Stop centre in Perry Barr? Do not drive it anywhere. A fitter visits, inspects it in place and tells you whether it is fixable or finished.
Flats found on a parked car usually began earlier. It may be a slow leak picked up on the A34 near Lodge Hill that gave up overnight in an Abingdon driveway, or a valve that failed in a Kidlington car park after the Oxford Parkway commute. With a flat on the Stratford Road side of Birmingham, signal early and pull into a residential road rather than stopping at a junction. Robin Hood Lane and Fox Hollies Road, both part of the A4040, meet the A34 near Hall Green and lead to quieter roads. Park on the kerb side, put the hazards on, then send us a location pin.
The other three tyres deserve a look before the flat one, because A34 lorry debris may have touched more than one. Then examine the flat: is there a nail? Has the valve split or bent? Are there fresh scrapes on the rim from a Perry Barr kerb? Driving it to a garage in Didcot or Walsall will finish off the sidewall. A space-saver belongs on a gentle pottering trip, not the trunk road, so leave the car where it is.
