Puncture Repair
on the A34.

Warning light on after a flat near the A34? We come to you, check the tyre properly and repair it where it's safe to.

Puncture Repair · A34

Puncture repaired safely off the carriageway
on the A34.

Do not keep driving on a flat along the A34. A tyre run while deflated wrecks the casing and turns a cheap repair into a new tyre, or worse at speed on a A-road. Stop safely, call us, and let us check whether yours can be mended to BS AU 159 before any more damage is done.

Once you are off the carriageway, in a refuge area or on the hard shoulder with your hazards on, we head out to A34 to reach you. The wheel comes off, the tyre comes off the rim, and we look inside the casing for the hidden damage an outside plug would never catch.

If the puncture is a clean hole under 6mm in the central tread and the tyre has not been run flat, it qualifies and we patch it properly on the spot. If it does not, we carry replacement stock and fit a new tyre there and then rather than send you back out on a repair that will not last.

  • Wheel off and casing inspected inside, a patch to BS AU 159, not an external plug
  • An honest call on repair or replace, with no pressure to buy a tyre you do not need
  • Far cheaper than a replacement when the puncture meets the standard
  • Out to you on the A34, generally within the hour, wheel rebalanced before you drive off

About the A34

The road we cover.

The A34 is a major dual carriageway, linking the Oxford ring road north to the M40 and running as a key route through Birmingham. Around Oxford it carries traffic past Kidlington to the M40 at junction 9; through Birmingham it runs as the Stratford Road and Walsall Road towards Cannock. It is a fast trunk route in Oxfordshire and a busy urban corridor in the West Midlands.

Wherever you've pulled over along it, we come to you and repair the puncture at the roadside rather than have you limp on and ruin the tyre.

Stay safe first

Broken down on the A34?

A slow puncture usually gives you a little time. Reduce speed, put your hazards on and come off at the next exit or into an emergency area rather than stopping in a live lane.

A34 FAQs

Puncture Repair on the A34, answered.

What actually happens during a roadside repair on the A34?
Once you are safe, we jack the car, take the wheel off and remove the tyre from the rim. We inspect the inside of the casing, fit a combined plug and patch to BS AU 159, rebalance the wheel and refit it. Then you are good to drive on from the A34.
Why do you take the whole tyre off just for a puncture?
Because a repair to BS AU 159 has to be done from the inside. Taking the tyre off the rim is the only way to inspect the casing for hidden damage and bond a patch properly. An outside plug fitted on the A34 without that is not a repair we would trust.
Can you repair a puncture in the dark or bad weather on the A34?
Yes. Our fitters work through the night and in poor weather, with lighting to do the job safely at the roadside on the A34. Getting you off a A-road and back on your way matters most when conditions are bad, so we run 24-hour callouts every day.
Does a repaired tyre need checking again later?
A repair to BS AU 159 lasts the working life of the tyre, so there is no special upkeep. Just keep an eye on your pressures as normal after we send you off from the A34, and have any future puncture inspected properly rather than plugged from outside.
What if my puncture cannot be repaired at the roadside?
Then we tell you straight and fit a replacement from the van where we have your size, so you are not left stranded on the A34. You only pay for what is needed, with nothing to settle up front, and we confirm the price with you before we set off whether we repair or replace.
