The M6 Toll bypasses the congested M6 through Birmingham, running from the M42 to Cannock across toll junctions T1 to T8. Can a tyre cut by debris on the carriageway be repaired?

Why can't a sidewall cut be patched, even a small one?
The sidewall flexes with every rotation of the wheel, so it carries stress the tread never does. No plug or patch is rated to stay put in that flexing zone, and at motorway speeds a repaired wall could fail without warning. Even a small cut in the sidewall means a replacement tyre. It is a safety rule we hold to for every driver.
