The A5 north of Dunstable carries trunk-road speeds without a hard shoulder anywhere. Grip hard, lift off the accelerator, and brake only gently once it tracks straight. Aim for Portway into Central Milton Keynes, the Tove roundabout into Towcester, or the Rugby side of Kilsby.
