When we arrive we take the wheel off, remove the tyre and inspect it inside against the standard: central three-quarters of the tread, under 6mm, not run flat. Meet all three and we patch it there and then. Fall outside them and we fit a replacement we carry, so you leave on a tyre we can stand behind.

About the M11

The M11 runs from the North Circular (A406) in east London up to Cambridge across junctions 4 to 14. It begins near Wanstead and Redbridge, climbs through Epping and Harlow and serves Stansted Airport at junction 8 near Bishop's Stortford. Can you repair my puncture at the roadside on the M11?
In most cases, yes. Once you are parked safely on the M11, we take the wheel off, remove the tyre from the rim and check the damage from inside. If it meets BS AU 159 we fit a proper patch and refit the balanced wheel before you set off.
When can a tyre not be repaired?
A repair is off if the hole is in or near the sidewall, over 6mm, outside the central three-quarters of the tread, or the tyre has been run flat. Any of those weakens the casing, so we fit a replacement rather than send you back onto the motorway unsafe.
Is a roadside repair as good as a garage one?
It is the same job. We follow BS AU 159 either way: wheel off, tyre off the rim, inspected inside, a combined plug and patch fitted, then rebalanced. Done to that standard the repair lasts the life of the tyre, whether on the M11 or a workshop floor.
How much does a repair cost against a new tyre?
A repair costs a good deal less than a replacement, which is why we always check whether yours qualifies first. There is nothing to pay up front: the enquiry is free and we confirm the price by phone before we set off. If the tyre must be replaced instead, we tell you that price before we start.
