A tyre torn open on Aspen Way or shredded on a Poplar estate ramp is not coming back, and when the car is needed today, Tower Hamlets gets a replacement fitted where it stands, time set on the call.

Some tyres are beyond saving: a cut sidewall, a run-flat driven too far, or tread torn by debris on Leamouth Road or Prestons Road. The car can wait in a side street near East India station or Blackwall station while the right size is sourced. Read us the full sidewall code and mention any locking wheel nuts before we set off.
The van must carry the right tyre, so read the sidewall aloud when you call from the Isle of Dogs: width, profile and rim first, the two-digit load number and speed letter after. Say whether it is a run-flat, and name the make fitted on the opposite Isle of Dogs wheel so both sides of that axle agree. The stock question you will hear is whether like-for-like matters or a sensible alternative is acceptable. Then name the Poplar estate car park where the van can stand.
