Watling Street comes down the hill as the A5183, Barnet Lane and Watford Road take the A411 across it, and junction 4 of the M1 at Brockley is barely half a mile off. Most tyre damage arrives from one of those, and most of it is put right on a driveway a few hundred yards away. The postcode is worth saying out loud, because WD6, HA7 and HA8 all reach into the village.

Aldenham Country Park has a proper car park and makes an easy meeting point for a car that still rolls. What nobody should use is the A41 Watford By-Pass, or the Brockley Hill roundabout, where there is no width to stand in. Elstree is Hertfordshire and outside the ULEZ, while Stanmore and Edgware over the boundary are inside it.
