The A41 Expressway is where a West Bromwich car admits to an unbalanced wheel, humming through the seat or fluttering in your hands. The balancer travels to B70 and B71.
Town pace through Carters Green hides the problem; the Expressway and the Black Country New Road out towards Wednesbury expose it, and so does the A4041 Newton Road climbing to junction 7. Weights get flicked off by the kerbs at the All Saints Way junctions or by the broken edges of Greets Green and Guns Village side streets, and a wheel that has lost one soon starts scuffing its tread in patches.
Working a corner at a time on your B71 drive, the fitter removes the wheel and secures it to the balancer bolted into the load bay. Two planes are read as it turns, and the display marks where the rim comes up light. Steel takes a hammered-on weight at the flange; an alloy gets an adhesive block set inside the barrel. It turns again to verify, then the nuts go up to their figure.
Drives in Stone Cross, Charlemont, Hateley Heath and Hill Top are ideal, and most Lyng and Guns Village kerbs do fine with room for the van. Streets by The Hawthorns are restricted on match days. Not on the Expressway or the M5.

What it will not do is worth saying plainly. A car that wanders across its lane on All Saints Way, or scrubs one front shoulder bald, has its wheel angles out of true, and correcting angles calls for a rig no mobile van carries, so it is not on our list. Judder under braking is a brake matter. Balance work pays off after new rubber, after a demounted puncture repair, or once a weight has gone missing.
