The A5 does most of the damage and provides most of the customers. Traffic grinds along the Broadway all day between the shops and the flats above them, kerbs get clipped pulling in, and something sharp finds a tread most weeks. Because the frontage here is flats above shops rather than houses with drives, the car is usually already parked on the street when the tyre is found flat, and the wheel comes away right there. What will not do is the Broadway frontage, where the loading and the bus traffic leave no gap, or Colindeep Lane, which runs steadily at all hours.

Calls come off the Broadway and the streets behind it, from Station Road running up towards Hendon and The Burroughs, and from Colindeep Lane on the Colindale side. Hendon station is the anchor for anybody who parks and takes the train, and its car park is the only public parking anywhere in the district. Two motorway junctions sit close, Staples Corner to the south and Five Ways Corner to the north, and a good share of the calls are from drivers who have just left one of them. The A5 itself and the A41 at Watford Way are not places to stop with a flat. NW9 is inside the ULEZ, which charges a moving vehicle and not a stationary one.
