This is estate housing with one shopping parade, and the tyre problems match. Something gets picked up on the A232 or on the A2022 Kent Gate Way, the warning light shows outside the shops, and the car gets left on the drive rather than driven any further. Occasionally it is worse: a kerb taken hard turning off Addington Road can split a sidewall outright. Either way, the size code on the tyre and a BR4 postcode are enough to get the right one loaded.

Home drives take the bulk of it. A side hardstanding does the job too, so long as the ground sits level and a wheel can be lifted clear without fouling anything. A unit on Vulcan Way Industrial Estate can be worked in when the site says so. On a street without drives, park square to the kerb in a turning off the main road, not on Glebe Way itself. The A2022 dual carriageway is out entirely.

Callers are spread over the streets between Croydon Road and Pickhurst Lane, the roads towards Nash and Keston, and the Park Langley and Kent Gate side. Vulcan Way Industrial Estate supplies the working vehicles, and those are usually sorted in a unit yard with the site's agreement. Nearly all the housing has a drive or a hardstanding, which makes a kerbside job the exception rather than the rule. The two car parks by the parade, the church one and the Sainsbury's one, are privately run, so a fitter in either needs whoever manages it to be happy about it. Croydon Road and Kent Gate Way carry too much traffic for anyone to kneel beside a wheel. ULEZ covers BR4 the same as it covers the rest of the capital, and a parked car pays nothing.
