In Ley Hill, Lye Green, Botley, Chartridge or Asheridge one postcode can stretch along a whole lane, so add the house name or the nearest junction when you ring. A spot under a street light, or a drive with the outside light on, makes the car easier to find and the work safer.
If the car has stopped on a slope, say so. A car cannot be jacked up safely on a steep incline, so it may need to roll or be driven a short way to level ground first.
Station, retail park and industrial estate car parks are private land. The fitter can work there only if the owner or operator allows it, so check the signs or ask first. A driveway or a quiet, well lit residential street is usually the easiest place for the work.
