A surface bay there is a practical place to do it. Park with a clear space on the side that has gone down if you can, stay near the car, and have the locking key with you. Let the fitter know the row you are in so there is no hunting about.
My car is on a multi-storey deck in Hemel Hempstead. Can you reach it?
Not on the deck itself. A fitting van will not clear the height barrier on a multi-storey, so the car needs bringing down to a surface car park or a street. If the tyre is too far gone to drive on, say so and the options get worked out on the call.
