Public parking does not exist in this district, so the meeting point has to be a bay, a forecourt or a drive. A controlled bay on Adelaide Road or Hilgrove Road is the usual answer. Park it, note the restriction on the sign, and ring from there.
Can a wheel be changed on Finchley Road outside the shops?
Not on the A41 itself. It carries through traffic in both directions and there is nowhere to stand clear of it. Turn into College Crescent or one of the roads off Adelaide Road, find a legal bay, and the job gets done there instead.
Does the ULEZ cost anything extra when a tyre is changed in NW3?
Not at all, as it happens. The charge is levied on vehicles being driven inside the zone, and a car sitting with its wheel off is doing no driving. What the zone does change is the sense of driving an older second car to a tyre bay and back.
