The complaint here nearly always starts on the A4010. Pulling away from Saunderton the rim begins to buzz, the seat joins in, yet everything feels calm again by the Market House. Weights get flicked off by the flint and broken chalk edges on the lanes above Loosley Row and Bledlow Ridge, and any alloy that has caught the kerb at the Longwick roundabout rarely spins true afterwards.
Each wheel you are unsure of comes off beside the car and is clamped to the machine carried aboard the van. Once it turns, the readout names the heavy point and the correction it wants: a clip weight hammered onto a steel rim, or a self-adhesive one pressed out of view inside an alloy.
