For a full fit at the kerb in Ware, the fitter needs room to kneel and lift beside the wheel, a firm flat surface, and somewhere for the van that leaves the road open. Kingshill and Presdales drives manage it easily. On a permit street behind West Street, the van stands alongside briefly. The car itself stays put from start to finish, which is the whole point when the tyre cannot be driven on. Tight riverside lanes with no stopping space are the exception here.
