A steering wheel that trembles once the A41 bypass opens up past Tring is the classic sign of an unbalanced wheel. A balancer is carried in the van, so each wheel is spun and weighted on your HP23 drive.
Tring's roads ask two different things of a wheel. The Chiltern lanes to Aldbury and Wilstone are slow, so a small imbalance hides there, then the car joins the A41 bypass towards Aylesbury or Berkhamsted and a hum creeps into the column or the seat. The usual causes: a clip-on weight lost to a B488 pothole beside the reservoirs, a kerb clipped on Akeman Street, or a tyre repaired or swapped without being rebalanced afterwards.
On a drive in Tring Park or New Mill the fitter raises the car, removes the wheel that shakes and mounts it on the balancer carried in the van. The machine spins it, finds the heavy spot, and small weights are clipped or stuck to the rim until it spins evenly. When you phone, describe at what sort of speed the shake arrives and whether you feel it in the steering or the seat, because that points to the front or the rear.
A level driveway in New Mill, Tring Park or Aldbury is ideal, and so is a marked bay in a council car park behind the High Street. With the balancer inside the van, which must park next to the wheel, a narrow lane out at Long Marston is unsuitable.

Balancing and alignment get muddled, and only balancing happens at a Tring kerb. A car wandering to the verge up the B4009, or front tyres losing rubber from their inner edges, hints at tracking, which needs a garage alignment rig; we do not offer it. Vibration can also come from a bulge in the tyre or a rim bent by a Wigginton pothole, so the fitter inspects the tyre first and says plainly if balancing will not cure it.
