Cars sit for days on the courtyards and turnings off Butcher Row, so a slow puncture collected on Commercial Road only shows itself as a soft corner on a Sunday morning. The A1203 takes heavy traffic down to the Limehouse Link portal, and whatever falls off it gets pressed into tread for weeks afterwards. Tell us the size stamped on the sidewall and the E1W postcode, and the right rubber is aboard before the van pulls away.

The converted wharves between The Highway and the water, the terraces running up towards Commercial Road and the blocks either side of Branch Road account for nearly all of the work. The Highway and the Limehouse Link are dual carriageway with no stopping of any kind, and the Rotherhithe Tunnel approach is worse again, with nowhere at all to pull in. What is left suits the job well enough: a courtyard, an allocated bay under a block, or a quiet turning where the car can sit square to the kerb. The ULEZ reaches this corner as it reaches all of Greater London, but what it bills is a journey, and a wheel coming off in a bay is not one.

On paper, and in the street names between Butcher Row and The Highway. Most people give Limehouse or Shadwell instead, which is no trouble at all. The postcode is what the fitter works from, so E1W or E1 plus the block name gets the van to the right gate.
My tyre went while I was heading for the Rotherhithe Tunnel. Where should I stop?
Not on the approach and not inside the tunnel, where stopping is forbidden and there is no room for it anyway. Come back onto Commercial Road and find a turning with space at the kerb. Call once you are parked and the van is sent to that spot.
Can you work in the parking under a converted wharf building?
Often the best surface in E1W: level, lit and out of the wind. It rests on the building rather than on us, so check with the porter or the managing agent, then name the level you are parked on, the bay number, and whether a van clears the ramp.
Is anything charged for the ULEZ while my car is being worked on?
