Anerley is the north-west corner of Bromley, hemmed in by Crystal Palace above it and Penge next door, and the traffic crossing it on Anerley Road and Croydon Road is heavier than the width of those roads suggests. A wheel kerbed while squeezing past a parked line is how a lot of local sidewalls die. When that happens the car usually ends up outside a house in SE20, which is exactly where we want it.

The best surface in Anerley is a driveway, and plenty of houses off Croydon Road and Elmers End Road have one. The Aldi car park is an option if you are already sitting in it and the store has no objection. That rules out the slope of Anerley Hill with no level patch, and a bay under a permit nobody can cover.

Work here divides neatly. North of the railway the ground rises towards Anerley Hill and the streets are narrow and terraced with almost no off-street parking, so the fitter works from the road. South and east, towards Elmers End Road and Birkbeck, more houses have a drive and the job is simpler. Bromley runs controlled bays in the busier parts, so mention which sort of space the car occupies when you ring. Commuters leave cars near Anerley station and Norwood Junction all day and find a flat on the way home. Trade callers come from Franklin Industrial Estate and Chaffinch Business Park, where there is usually yard room behind the vehicle.
