This corner belongs to Bromley rather than Croydon, though the tram ties it to both. Tyre trouble arrives on Elmers End Road and Upper Elmers End Road, where the A214 carries traffic through to Beckenham, and on Croydon Road where the A222 heads the other way. Most drivers get home before the tyre is properly down, which means the car is on a BR3 drive by the time anybody rings. Say what the sidewall reads and which road you are on, and the replacement rides out with the van.

A front drive is the first answer and plenty of BR3 houses have one. Failing that, a residential kerbside space with room for the van behind. What will not do is the A214 through the middle, the tram tracks, or any bay that leaves the jack in the road.

Postcodes are mixed here, BR3 for most of it with SE20, SE25 and CR0 creeping in at the edges, so the postcode matters more than the district name when you book. Work comes from the houses off Elmerside Road and Upper Elmers End Road, from the Beckenham side towards Clock House and Kent House, and from Anerley and Penge. Front drives turn up on most roads here, and that is where the bulk of the work happens. Street parking is workable on the residential roads; the A214 and the A234 Beckenham Road are not, being through routes with buses on them. The station car park at Elmers End suits a commuter whose car will not move, provided the operator is content and the car is clear of the barrier lanes. All of it is inside the ULEZ.
