Does driving on the flat change whether you can repair my tyre on A1(M)?

Can you really patch a puncture on the A1(M) in the small hours?
Yes. The repair service runs day and night, so a fitter can come out to the A1(M) at 3am just as readily as at midday. Provided you have stopped somewhere safe and the damage is repairable, we take the wheel off, patch it to BS AU 159 and rebalance it there and then, subject to a fitter being free.
What should I do to stay safe while I wait on A1(M)?
Get yourself and any passengers away from moving traffic first. Pull into an emergency area or the hard shoulder, or leave at the next junction, and never remain in a live lane.
