The A1(M) is busy at odd hours: commuters stepping off late trains at Hatfield and Potters Bar, hospital and warehouse staff finishing night shifts, weekend traffic returning from the M25. Tyre trouble at 1am on a Sunday, or late on a bank holiday Monday, leaves a driver with the garages shut. Because our base at Brent Cross is close to the southern end, this is one of the more practical roads for an overnight callout.

Knebworth station, the Hatfield Park and Ride site and the Welham Green Station Car Park are examples of places where a car can sit off the A1(M) without being on a dark lane. Sit inside with the doors locked, keep your mobile topped up, and tell us the vehicle colour so we spot you when we arrive.
Calling late, start with the exact spot, such as the car area at Baldock services or which row of the Hatfield station car park, then the tyre size and, crucially for a night job at Baldock, whether you have a locking key with you. Keep the doors locked and hazards on, in a bay well inside the car park rather than beside its entrance road. Daytime pricing applies, given on that call, so you decide before the van leaves NW2 and owe nothing if you decline.
