A hum through the seat as the A45 opens out past Dunchurch normally comes down to one unbalanced wheel. Our balancer travels in the van to Bilton, Cawston or Brownsover.
Rugby drivers notice it on the open stretches rather than around the Clock Towers ring road. The A426 north of Brownsover, the A45 towards TA5rlaston and the M45 spur down to the A5 are where a light shiver turns into a proper wobble through the rim. Causes are ordinary enough: a clip-on weight knocked away by those high bus stop kerbs along the A426 at Newbold, a pothole at the Dunchurch crossroads, or a tyre refitted without a spin.
Off comes the wheel, on goes the balancer that lives in the van. One spin tells the machine where mass is short; the fitter clips a weight to the rim of a steel wheel or bonds a strip inside an alloy, then runs it again to be certain, and the wheel is torqued back up. Tell us on the phone which corner troubles you and what the car is parked on, and the charge is settled there.
Driveways in Bilton, Cawston, Houlton and Long Lawford are ideal, and the open bays at Elliott's Field or Junction One retail park leave the fitter plenty of room. Permit streets by Rugby School need the bay described. Not on the M6 or the A45 carriageway.

There are limits worth naming. Steering that tugs left along the A428 into Hillmorton, or a rim sitting off-centre when the road runs straight, is an alignment matter needing a workshop, which Rescue Tyres is not. Juddering that arrives only when you brake points at the discs instead. The right moments for a balance: fresh tyres, a repair that meant breaking the tyre off its rim, a weight gone missing, or a shiver tied to one steady pace.
