Tyseley and Greet are Sparkhill's working end, full of units and vans that cannot sit idle. The correct load-rated van tyre is brought to the yard and fitted there, just off the Warwick Road.
Sparkhill has two sorts of working van: those based at the units off the A41 Warwick Road around Tyseley and Greet, and those supplying the shops along the Stratford Road. Both collect debris. The industrial roads down to Tyseley are rough and potholed, which punishes a tyre carrying a heaA34load, and the rear yards behind the A34 shops gather packaging straps and dropped fixings that find their way into a tread.
Commercial tyres are built differently. A Tyseley work van's sidewall shows a C behind the rim diameter, and its load index is often two numbers split by a slash, for single and twin rear wheels. The fitter brings a tyre that meets those numbers, lifts the van with a jack rated for its weight on the yard's concrete, fits and balances the wheel and torques the nuts. The yard owner's permission and a price agreed on the call come first.
Concrete yards at the Tyseley units, the Tyseley Energy Park area with site permission, and rear yards behind the Stratford Road shops are ideal. The A34 red route, its bus lanes and soft verges are not.

Electric vans working from Tyseley or Greet need tyres chosen with care. Their weight means the load index on the replacement must be at least the manufacturer's figure, and a quieter tyre, shown by the noise rating on its label, keeps the cabin calmer when there is no engine to cover the sound. Give the van's make and say whether it is electric, so a suitable tyre can be found before the van sets out for B11.
