The A4036 is where a Brierley Hill wheel gives itself away, with a hum through the steering and a shiver in the seat past Merry Hill. The balancer travels to the car.
Round the town the fault stays hidden. Get onto the Pedmore Road dual carriageway, or the A4101 across Pensnett, and an unbalanced wheel begins to beat, first at the steering rim and then through the floor. High kerbs on the Delph and the steep turns in Quarry Bank knock weights off a rim. So does a screw picked up on a Pensnett trading estate and repaired without the wheel being spun afterwards.
Work is done where the car already stands. Off comes the wheel in a Withymoor drive or a Waterfront bay, the tyre looked over for anything stuck in the tread and for a bulge in the sidewall, and it then goes on the balancer carried aboard, spinning until the reading settles. Fresh weights, correct torque, then try the Level Street run. Say roughly what speed brings it on.
Drives in Withymoor Village, Quarry Bank and Silver End, a level stretch on the Delph, Waterfront car parks where the office agrees, Merry Hill bays once customer services know. Not the bus stations, and nothing on the Pedmore Road carriageway.

It is worth saying what this is not. Alignment, the setting of the angles the wheels sit at, is not work Rescue Tyres takes on, since it needs a rig and a flat floor. A car dragging towards the kerb on a straight piece of the A461, or one edge of a front tyre worn away, is showing the alignment symptom. The shake that builds with speed belongs to balancing.
