The fitter needs clear ground along the wheel being changed, enough for a trolley jack and for the wheel to lie flat, on a level surface. Most Bournville drives provide both. In Stirchley a legal bay behind the shops works, as long as the van blocks neither a neighbour's drive nor a bus stop. The car stays exactly where it is, because machine and balancer come to it. Unrestricted streets round the village green and Rowheath are good alternatives when a drive is full.
