Compton is where the city starts to give way to the countryside, and tyre calls follow suit. Much of the damage comes off the A454 Bridgnorth Road, a screw from the verge or a kerb strike on the way into the city. Not usable: the A454 carriageway, the Henwood Road kerbside, and anywhere the fitter would be exposed to passing traffic.

Calls come from the homes along the Bridgnorth Road, from the side streets off it, and from the roads that climb Finchfield Hill towards Finchfield. Many houses here have drives, and most Compton jobs never leave them. The A454 carries traffic out towards Bridgnorth and is not a safe place to stop, so a car with a flat should turn into a side road first. Henwood Road, part of the B4161, is a through route too, so again a side street works better. Where the car remains driveable at low speed, the High Street Car Park is a public option near the centre. Tettenhall Wood and Castlecroft sit close by, and the same approach applies there.
