Get the car off the red route and into a side street or a bay where it can stand legally, going gently and staying off the rim if you can. Once it is stationary and clear of the traffic, ring 07473 720871 with the street and the size.
Can you meet me at Seven Sisters station?
The roads immediately around the station are red route and bus lane, which rules the station out as a meeting point. A street two or three turnings back works much better, and the fitter comes to whichever one you name when you ring.
There is a van off the road on one of the estates by the Lea. Can you come?
Uplands Business Park, Lockwood Industrial Park and the yards around them are straightforward to work in, with far more space than a street gives. Tell the fitter the unit, the gate to use and the full size code off the sidewall, and the replacement travels with him.
Is a tyre still repairable after it has been driven on flat?
Generally not. Once a tyre has rolled with nothing in it, the liner breaks up and the sidewall works itself apart, even where the outside still looks presentable, and no repair standard covers that condition. Replacement is the safe call, which is why it pays to stop as soon as the warning shows.
