This is a terraced district where the cars sit out all week, and a slow puncture rarely announces itself until somebody walks out on a Monday. Merton Road on the A218 and Garratt Lane on the A217 bracket the place and hand over most of the sharp objects; the rest is kerb damage from turning into streets narrowed by parking on both sides. Because almost everything is controlled parking, taking the car anywhere costs you the space, so the work is done where it stands.

Most of the calling happens between Merton Road and Garratt Lane, out towards Summerstown and the Windmill Green Estate, and up the streets that lead to Wandsworth. A few of the larger houses here have off-street parking and those jobs are simple. The rest are permit bays, which the fitter can work beside provided the permit matches and the bay is clear. Burr Road car park is the public option when there is nothing outside the house. What the fitter will not touch is the A3 through East Hill and West Hill, or Trinity Road on the A214, both of which move too much traffic to put a jack anywhere near. Southfields is Greater London, so ULEZ rules apply all day and all night, though nothing is charged to a vehicle sitting on a jack.
